People’s cultural identity is very important. Culture is the set of rules, behaviors and beliefs of a specific population. The culture determines many aspects of our lives. First, there are some subjective features and characteristics that define each culture. For example: how we speak, the way we perceive others, how we handle problems, our thoughts and also our spiritual beliefs. Second, however, culture has material aspects also like: clothing, transportation, technology, architecture, and physical structures. Material culture is linked with the artifacts and tools that belong and are used by people. How we use those tools will be distinct depending of which is our culture. Therefore, this is the reason why is vital to be aware of our cultural identity. All of us come from pretty diverse places and environments and that diversity should be respected, valued and also well known. Finally, to have your own identity is important; this can help us to understand ourselves as members and create the sense of belonging to a specific group, which has unique features and live styles. Every culture creates distinct atmospheres that allow members to develop and acquire knowledge and customs that differ from other cultures in context and usage.
